Patrick Poncet is a geographer and holds a PhD and HDR (L’origine des espaces. From spatial intelligence to fundamental geography). He has a dual career as a teacher-researcher in the academic world and as an entrepreneur, consultant and designer. He proposes the concept of spatial intelligence (Intelligence spatiale, Presse Universitaires de Rennes, 2017) to designate a new way of envisioning and practicing geography, according to three complementary perspectives: 1. a spatial technology; 2. a unified theory of geography; 3. an inclusive way of defining the profession of geographer. Since 2021, he has been a research fellow of the Spatial Intelligence Chair at the Université Polytechnique des Hauts-de-France.
