Jean-Jacques Delannoy, a geographer, is director of the laboratory EDYTEM (Environment, Dynamics and Mountain Territories-University of Savoie). His research focuses on environmental and cultural memories recorded in the caves and seeks to reconstitute the various forms of the interaction Men/Environments and their heritage dimension. For about fifteen years, his work has evolved around the decorated caves and sites (Chauvet cave and aboriginal sites) as part of a comprehensive approach transcending disciplinary approaches. The anthropo-geomorphological approach that he develops aims at offering a better account of the intentional acts of Man in the development and creation of rock and adorned sites.
